Great stuff here. The introduction of the jester. I'm finding myself so entrenched in the prose I feel like I'm actually in the room to a degree of deep immersive thought. Bravo good chap! BRAVO!!!!

What is this that you have here, my child? Are those your fears, is this your grief? I will feast on it. My delicious banquet. I will scavenge over your soul until I get to the marrow, savor it until finally I become you.

That's shattering, that someone would play with the bereaved and their memory of their dead loved ones. But then again, as I try to tie this chapter to the intro, I'm not so sure whether Marzio is actually dead. I shall read on and see :)

Terrors lurk in the dark, craving for an empty vessel. Slip themselves into to reach for the light and taint. What space can you make for them. For the abyss they come from may be the recess of your own self.

I'm enjoying the build-up here. This Marzio left behind a lover- a lover haunted by this jester. I don't know where this is all going but I look forward to seeing the chief encounter the jester some time down the line. Very cool storyline.
